Ashland's Menhart Chosen Capital One Academic All-American

ASHLAND, Ohio -- Ashland University senior center fielder Taylor Menhart third team All-America honors on Thursday (May 28), as the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America Softball Team was released.

Menhart's senior season included a .415 batting average, 47 runs scored, 16 doubles, eight triples, eight home runs, 42 RBIs, 26 walks, seven stolen bases, an on-base percentage of .497 and a slugging percentage of .767.

The Academic All-America honor adds to Menhart's honor-filled offseason, which also has included being named first-team Midwest Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), first-team All-Midwest Region from Daktronics, first-team All-Capital One Academic District 4 and first-team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Menhart also earned 2015 Daktronics/Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association All-America honorable mention honors.
