Hillsdale's Weidinger, Findlay's Arnold Earn GLIAC Softball Player of the Week Accolades

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly softball awards following the start of the 2017 campaign. Findlay junior outfielder Madison Arnold earned GLIAC Softball Player of the Week honors, while Hillsdale freshman Dana Weidinger captured Pitcher of the Week accolades.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Madison Arnold, Findlay

Findlay junior Madison Arnold led the Oilers to a 2-2 record in Louisville over the weekend by hitting .538 (7-of-13) with two home runs and four runs batted in. Arnold also scored four runs and added a double and a stolen base in the games. She began the weekend by going 2-for-3 with a home run in the Oilers 7-4 win over Kentucky Wesleyan on Feb. 11 before going 3-for-4 with a homer and two runs batted in against Bellarmine on Feb. 11 as well. She then finished with a hit in each of the Oilers next two games on Feb. 12.


PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Dana Weidinger, Hillsdale

Hillsdale freshman pitcher Dana Weidinger picked up her first two collegiate wins at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Florida over the weekend. Weidinger recorded a 1.33 earned run average over 21.0 innings and had 13 strikeouts versus just two walks in her three starts.
