Official 2018 D2CCA All-Midwest Region Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind.— Grand Valley State University junior pitcher Allison Lipovsky and Truman State University junior outfielder Christa Reisinger have been named the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association Midwest Region Softball Pitcher and Player of the Year, respectively, in a vote by the Midwest Region's sports information directors. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) landed nine all-region selections, including six first team honorees.

Lipovsky, the GLIAC Pitcher of the Year in 2018, finished the year with a 22-5 record, a 0.81 ERA, a .139 opponent batting average and 309 strikeouts. She is the second player in program history to reach the 300-strikeout plateau and finished the year just eight strikeouts shy of the single-season mark of 317.

Her efforts this season propelled the Lakers to a 44-9 overall record, the GLIAC regular-season and tournament tiles and the top seed in the NCAA II Midwest Region Tournament. Grand Valley State earned a total of five first teamers.
