DU's Crawford and Ashland's Stroe receive softball Week 3 awards

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly softball awards following Week 3 of the 2019 season. Davenport junior outfielder Kennedy Crawford was named Player of the Week, while Ashland's Hannah Stroe was the Pitcher of the Week.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Kennedy Crawford - Davenport

Junior outfielder Kennedy Crawford (Commerce, Mich.) carried a .417 batting average this week in seven games played for the Panthers. She collected a team-best 10 hits including two doubles and drove in five runs. She also stole three bases in three tries and reached base at a .417 clip. She recorded two hits in a victory over Saint Rose, and close losses to Kentucky Wesleyan and Florida Southern.


PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Hannah Stroe - Ashland

Ashland University senior pitcher Hannah Stroe (Macedonia, Ohio) was 1-0 with a 0.70 earned-run average in 10 innings over two games as the Eagles started their annual spring break trip to Florida. Stroe threw the complete-game win over Felician, totaling three strikeouts and one walk, then added three scoreless innings of relief against Georgian Court.
