INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 21 Grand Valley State softball team is headed to the NCAA Midwest Super Regionals after a 15-1 rout of the Findlay Oilers in five innings on Saturday (May 14) morning at Baumgartner Field. The Lakers improve to 43-6 on the season and are two wins away from a third straight trip to the Women's College World Series.

The 3-seed in the region, the Lakers swept through the Indianapolis bracket to advance to next week's best-of-three super regional where they will face host and top-seeded Southern Indiana. GVSU is in search of their third straight trip to the Division II Women's College World Series.

The Lakers (GLIAC, 43-6) went 3-0 through their regional bracket, downing 6-seed Ohio Dominican, 1-0, before a 7-0 win over host and 2-seed Indianapolis behind a no-hitter from Hannah Beatus, then capped the weekend in Indy with a 15-1 win over 7-seed Findlay in the finals. The Lakers were an at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament after winning a GLIAC regular season title and were tournament runners up.

The Screaming Eagles (GLVC, 47-11) fell in the opening round to 8-seed Saginaw Valley, but bounced back to beat 4-seed Lindenwood and 5-seed Drury before taking two from the Cardinals on the final day to punch their ticket to the regional championships. They earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the GLVC Tournament. They also won the conference regular season title.
