FINDLAY, Ohio -- The Tiffin University Dragons captured the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Sunday for the first time in school history, while the Grand Valley State women won their 18th consecutive indoor conference title in impressive fashion.

Tiffin finished in the top spot in men's action after a final total of 167.50 points with Grand Valley State ending up second at 131.50. Ashland took third with 107 points, while Hillsdale placed fourth with a tally of 82 points. On the women's side, GVSU (160.5) outdistanced Hillsdale by 64 points as Ashland wound up third with 79 points. Walsh earned a fourth-place showing with 65 points.

Tiffin distance runner James Ngandu captured Track Athlete of the Meet as well as High Point Athlete of the Meet honors after his victory in the 3,000 meters while also finishing second in the 5k. Fellow TU Dragon Coy Blair was selected Field Athlete of the Year following a GLIAC record performance in the shot put with a distance of 64' 1 1/4".

Women's Track Athlete of the Year accolades was bestowed upon GVSU's Rachael Walters who scorched the field in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.11, while her fellow GVSU teammate Angela Ritter won the High Point Athlete of the Meet award partially due to her first-place showing in the 200 meter dash which she won in 24.77 seconds.

Ashland speedster Myles Pringle collected Track Athlete of the Year accolades from the indoor season after he added the 400 meter gold to his impressive indoor resume this season. Pringle's freshman teammate Alex Hill was named Freshman Field Athlete of the Year, while Hillsdale's Joseph Humes was tabbed Freshman Track Athlete of the Year. On the women's side for AU, Megan Tomei was selected GLIAC Field Athlete of the Year as one of the best shot putters in the country.

Findlay multis performer Trey Everett was named Field Athlete of the Meet thanks in part to a victory in the men's heptathlon with a point total of 5,127. Field Athlete of the Meet on the women's side went to Danielle Corbin from Lake Erie who earned gold in the long jump with a mark of 19' 4 1/4".

The Hillsdale women garnered a pair of major awards. Hannah McIntyre was named Track Athlete of the Meet after her record-breaking performance in the 5,000 meter with Kathryn Bassette earning Freshman Field Athlete of the Meet distinction after an impressive performance. Last but not least, Walsh's Andra Lehotay took home Freshman Track Athlete of the Meet honors.
