2017 GLIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships Central

FINDLAY, Ohio -- The 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place this weekend (Feb 25 & 26) on the campus of the University of Findlay inside the Robert A. Malcom Athletic Center. The competition will feature nearly 600 student-athletes from 14 women's teams and 12 men's programs in one of the most highly anticipated NCAA Division II meets throughout the country.

The GLIAC boasts a strong field led by the No. 1-ranked teams in both men's (Ashland) and women's (Grand Valley State) action revealed by the latest USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field Rankings. Head coach Jeremy Croy once again has his Tiffin men's program roaring at No. 3 in the country as TU eyes an attempt at back-to-back national titles in a few weeks time. 

The Grand Valley State Lakers own the top spot on the women's side and also the No. 4 position in the men's rankings. GVSU is guided by head coach Jerry Baltes whose women have earned 17 straight indoor conference championships, while the men have captured seven consecutive league titles, including 16 in the last 17 years dating back to the year 2000 (Ashland 2009).

Both Findlay programs are nationally-ranked inside the Top 20 as the Oilers look forward to hosting the 2017 GLIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships inside their friendly confines. Long-time head coach Marc Arce's women's team sits 15th with his UF men positioned No. 18 in the nation.

Three additional teams have earned recognition inside the latest women's rankings: No. 20 Walsh, No. 21 Ashland, No. 23 Hillsdale.
