GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors | Week 6

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following the sixth weekend of the 2017 outdoor track and field season. In women's competition, Hillsdale junior Hannah McIntyre earned GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week honors, while Findlay senior Alex DeVincentis captured GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week accolades. On the men's side, the Ashland 4x100 Relay team of Brandon Wilson, Devin Snowden, Brandon Freeman and Myles Pringle earned GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week distinction, while Ashland senior Jordan Crayon captured GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week recognition.


WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Hannah McIntyre - Hillsdale

Hillsdale junior Hannah McIntyre ran a terrific race on her home track at the 51st Annual Hillsdale College Gina Relays Friday night. Her time of 16:32.05 in the 5000 meter run ranks her first in the GLIAC and eighth nationally. The seven-time All-American distance runner will try to add another GLIAC title to her resume this week at the conference championship meet at Grand Valley State.


WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Alex DeVincentis - Findlay

This past weekend at the Penn Relays, Findlay senior Alex DeVincentis, already ranked in the top eight in the country in the shot put, reach the automatic qualifying distance in the discus throw. DeVincentis had a toss that measured 50.14m (164’6”) which was good for fourth place at the meet. That throw is the second-best in the GLIAC this season and places her in eighth in the country. 


MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Brandon Wilson, Devin Snowden, Brandon Freeman, Myles Pringle - Ashland

The Ashland men’s 4x100 relay team consisting of sophomores Brandon Wilson and Devin Snowden, senior Bradndon Freeman and sophomore Myles Pringle won its event at the Ashland Alumni Open in 40.65 seconds, putting it 11th in the country.


MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Jordan Crayon - Ashland

Ashland senior Jordan Crayon won the Ashland Alumni Open men’s hammer throw invite section with a top heave of 69.87 meters/229-feet-3, now ranking him No. 1 in NCAA Division II in the event.
