2018 GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Central
ASHLAND, Ohio -- The 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place this week (May 2-4) on the campus of Ashland University at the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex. The competition will feature nearly 500 student-athletes from 11 women's teams and nine men's programs in one of the most highly anticipated NCAA Division II meets throughout the country.
The GLIAC boasts a strong field led by three men's teams (No. 5 Tiffin, No. 9 Ashland, No. 11 Grand Valley State) nationally ranked inside the top 11 with GVSU owning the No. 2 spot in the women's national rankings.
Ashland will look to capture back-to-back men's outdoor league titles on its home turf after Jud Logan's squad hoisted the trophy last season and five times in the last ten years. GVSU is guided by head coach Jerry Baltes whose women have earned 18 straight outdoor conference championships.
