ASHLAND – Thanks to his two first-place showings on Sunday (Jan. 7) at the Akron Pole Vault Convention, Ashland University junior Myles Pringle has garnered his second National Athlete of the Week award from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this season, and the fourth of his Eagle career.

On Sunday, Pringle won the men's 400-meter dash in 47.10 seconds, the third-fastest time in the event in the entire country in the last week, and just a tenth of a second shy of his season-best mark of 47.00 seconds at the Kent State Golden Flash Gala on Dec. 9. He also was part of the first-place men's 4x400 relay team, which finished in 3:18.67.

Through the weekend, Pringle was the No. 1 men's 400 dash time in NCAA Division II, and is tied for the country's top men's high jump mark at 2.15 meters/7-feet-0½. He also is a part of the Ashland men's 4x4 relay team which sits at No. 8 in the nation at 3:15.71.
