Ashland's Blewitt Wilson, Jeschelnig Ulm To Go Into USTFCCCA Hall Of Fame

ASHLAND, Ohio -- On Wednesday (May 23) night, prior to the start of the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Charlotte, N.C., former Ashland University throwing greats Adriane Blewitt Wilson and Jackie Jeschelnig Ulm will be enshrined in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Athlete Hall of Fame.

Not only do Blewitt Wilson and Jeschelnig Ulm continue to rank as the two best women's throwers in Ashland track and field history, they continue to be two of the best female throwers in the annals of Division II.

Blewitt Wilson continues to boast the top five D-II women's outdoor shot put marks on record, and eight of the top nine, including the national record of 17.99 meters/59-feet-0¼. She also is the No. 2 indoor shot putter in D-II women's competition.

As an Eagle, Blewitt Wilson won seven national titles and was a 13-time D-II All-American in three different events – shot put, discus throw and weight throw. She also was a two-time first-team Academic All-American, the 2003 National Indoor Track Female Athlete of the Year, 2001 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Women's Athlete of the Meet, and 2001 GLIAC Outdoor Women's Athlete of the Meet.

Following her Eagle career, Jeschelnig Ulm competed for Team USA in the hammer throw at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Collegiately, she remains the fourth-best D-II outdoor women's hammer thrower in history, and was the D-II record-holder until 2015.

Combined in the hammer and weight, Jeschelnig Ulm collected five D-II national championships, and 13 D-II All-American citations. She became the first D-II woman to win three hammer championships in 2003, was a first-team Academic All-American in 2003, and in 2002, was the GLIAC Indoor and Outdoor Women's Athlete of the Meet.

Joining Blewitt Wilson and Jeschelnig Ulm in the 2018 class are Lynnsey Dailey (Fort Valley State University), Chaunte Mitchell (Stanislaus State University), Antoinette "Ana" Oglesby (Fort Valley State University), Ashley Puga (Northwest Nazarene University), Libia Rodriguez (Saint Augustine's), Shnaka Walker (Saint Augustine's) and Bryant Wilson (Grand Valley State University). According to the USTFCCCA, the 2018 class is the 23rd to be inducted, and is the largest class to go into the NCAA Division II Athlete Hall of Fame.

Blewitt Wilson and Jeschelnig Ulm join Sean Robbins (Class of 2017) as Eagles in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Athlete Hall of Fame.
