ODU's Women’s Basketball Teams Up With LifeCare Alliance

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team took some time away from the hardwood this past Tuesday evening to work with nearby LifeCare Alliance, a not-for-profit organization that provides a comprehensive array of health and nutrition services to older adults and individuals with a chronic illness or disability in Central Ohio.

The women helped assemble over 700 holiday gift bags for one the organization's 20 dining center locations where older individuals with a disability and/or chronically ill adults can come together for nutritious meal. The team also helped pack meals for the Meals-on-Wheels program and made survey calls to clients to get feedback on various services provided by LifeCare Alliance.

"We are very grateful for the opportunity to volunteer at Life Care Alliance," said head coach Nathan Bellman. "It was a valuable experience for our team and we look forward to continuing to serve with them in the future."

LifeCare Alliance, Columbus' first in-home health care agency and Ohio's first Visiting Nurse Association, was founded in 1898 as the Instructive District Nursing Association (IDNA), with the goal to lead the community in identifying and delivering health and nutrition services to meet the community's changing needs.
