BAY CITY, Mich. - Wayne State University senior forward Phaebre Colbert (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Ohio Dominican University freshman forward Melissa Scherpenberg (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) have been chosen as the GLIAC Women's Basketball North and South Division "Players of the Week", respectively.

Wayne State University senior forward had a monster week for the Warriors. Thursday's 11 point, 15 rebound performance was key to the Warriors' 55-53 victory over Michigan Tech. Colbert found a way to get her hands on the ball countless times down the stretch to seal that victory. Saturday against the Wildcats Colbert scored a career high 27 points off the bench while also grabbing 12 boards for back-to-back double-doubles for WSU senior.

Ohio Dominican University freshman Melissa Scherpenberg averaged 13.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in 27.5 minutes off the bench last week in leading ODU to a pair of road victories. She recorded a huge double-double in the win at Walsh, tallying 16 points and 18 rebounds, 12 of which were offensive rebounds. Scherpenberg followed that with 11 points and seven rebounds off bench in win at Malone as ODU rallied from 17 point deficit.
