BAY CITY, Mich. - Michigan Technological University senior guard Sam Hoyt (Arkansaw, Wis./Durand) and Ashland University senior guard/forward Kari Daugherty (Fresno, Ohio/Dayton) have been chosen as the GLIAC Women's Basketball North and South Division "Players of the Week", respectively.

GLIAC North Division Player of the Week:

Sam Hoyt

Michigan Technological University senior guard Sam Hoyt became the first basketball player, man or woman, to record a triple double in school history. The Arknasaw, Wisconsin, native scored 18 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 10 assists in a 90-80 win over Concordia-St. Paul on Nov. 10. Hoyt, who earned Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American honorable mention honors last season, made all six of her free throws and had two steals in the contest.

GLIAC South Division Player of the Week:

Kari Daugherty

Fresno, Ohio/Dayton

Ashland University senior guard Kari Daugherty shot 58.6 percent from the field and 85.0 percent from the free throw line in three games last week. Daugherty, who led the country in double-doubles last season, had three twin killings as AU went 3-0 at the Disney Classic in Anaheim, Calif. Ashland defeated two ranked teams – Gannon and Grand Canyon – in California. Daugherty was AU's leading scorer in all three games. She averaged 29.0 points., 16.0 rebounds., and 3.7 assists over the three games.
