BAY CITY, Mich. - Ferris State University junior guard Sarah DeShone (Elkhart, Ind./Jimtown) and Ashland University senior guard/forward Kari Daugherty (Fresno, Ohio/Dayton) have been chosen as the GLIAC Women's Basketball North and South Division "Players of the Week", respectively.

GLIAC North Division Player of the Week:

Sarah DeShone

Ferris State University junior guard Sarah DeShone had both a game-high 24 points and a contest-best nine rebounds in the Bulldogs' 68-66 league road win at the University of Findlay on Saturday. She also hit the go-ahead jumper in the final minute to lift the Bulldogs to the triumph and converted nine-of-15 field goals along with making two-of-four three's and all four of her free throw attempts.  DeShone posted 27 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor while adding five assists and four rebounds in FSU’s 76-63 win at Hillsdale College on Monday.  For the week she averaged 25.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per contest.

GLIAC South Division Player of the Week:

Kari Daugherty
Ashland University
6-1, Senior Guard/Forward
Fresno, Ohio/Dayton

Ashland University senior Kari Daugherty was AU’s leading scorer in a 70-54 victory at fifth-ranked Indianapolis. The top-ranked Eagles handed the Greyhounds their first loss of the season. Daugherty had 12 points in the first half as AU led by 10 points at the break. She also handed out five assists, had two steals, rejected a pair of shots and grabbed 13 rebounds. Daugherty scored the 1,000th point of her AU career in this game. In a little over a year (46 games), she scored 1,015 points. Daugherty followed up that game with two more double-doubles. She has 30 consecutive double-double, which is an NCAA Division II record.
