BAY CITY, Mich. - Wayne State University senior forward Imari Redfield (Detroit, Mich./Country Day) and Malone University senior guard Deborah Simmers (Anchorage, Alaska/Anchorage Christian) have been chosen as the GLIAC Women's Basketball North and South Division "Players of the Week", respectively.

GLIAC North Division Player of the Week:

Wayne State University senior forward Imari Redfield scored a career-high 30 points against Walsh, knocking down 13 of 16 shots, including sinking both triple tries. Establishing a new career-high by halftime against the Cavaliers, Redfield out-scored her previous career best by 17 points. In a victory over Malone she scored 14 points and added six rebounds and two assists. She scored seven points in the first four minutes of the second half to help give Wayne State its largest lead of the game against Malone. For the season, Redfield is sixth in the GLIAC in shooting percentage (57.4 percent).

Malone Univeristy senior guard Deborah Simmers averaged 13 points, four rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last week as Malone registered a 1-1 record in a pair of road games.  The senior guard tallied 13 points, four rebounds and three assists in a 70-60 win at Saginaw Valley State on Thursday before tossing in 13 points, grabbing four boards and handing out four assists in a 69-62 loss at Wayne State on Saturday. On the season, Simmers is averaging 13.4 points per game, while shooting 42 percent from the field, and 83 percent from the free throw line.
