2017 NCAA DIVISION II WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT BRACKET

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The top-seed Ashland Eagles defeated No. 4 Harding in Columbus on Wednesday (March 22) by a final score of 90-77 in the 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament Semifinal round. The Eagles will face No. 6 Virginia Union in the National Championship game this Friday (March 24) at 7 PM on the campus of Ohio Dominican University inside Alumni Hall.

Recap: Ashland jumped out to a big halftime lead after a 17-1 run in the latter stages of the second quarter propelled the Eagles to an 18-point halftime advantage. AU connected on seven first-half triples and outrebounded Harding by a 19-13 margin, putting three Eagles in double figures scoring. Ashland led by as many as 28 points midway through the third quarter before winning by 13 points. Laina Snyder (25 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists) led the Eagles to victory along with Andi Daugherty's 23 points. 

For the game, Ashland fired 50 percent from the field, including 10-of-22 from beyond the arc and 18-for-21 from the foul stripe. The Eagles put five players in double figures and now move to 36-0 on the season.
