Five Women's Hoops Teams Earn Region Rankings

NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS -- Five Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's basketball teams appeared in the first NCAA Division II Midwest Region Rankings of 2017 released on Wednesday (Feb. 15).

The undefeated Ashland Eagles are the lone unbeaten team in the country and are rolling at 25-0 atop the region. Saginaw Valley checks in at No. 3, while Michigan Tech is positioned No. 6 in the initial rankings. Grand Valley State (No. 9) and Ohio Dominican (No. 10) round out the region rankings.

The Midwest Region includes schools from the GLIAC, the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The GLVC holds four regional ranking positions with the G-MAC's Ursuline holding court at No. 4.

The 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament Selection Show will take place on Sunday, March 5th at 10 PM on NCAA.com. The Top 8 in each region will qualify for the postseason championships.
