Ashland Remains Atop Women's Basketball Region Rankings

NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS -- Five Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's basketball teams appeared in the second NCAA Division II Midwest Region Rankings of 2017 released on Wednesday (Feb. 22).

The Ashland Eagles remain the lone unbeaten team in the country at 27-0. Saginaw Valley holds steady at No. 3, while Michigan Tech is also positioned No. 6 for the second straight week. Grand Valley State (No. 7) jumped up two spots from a week ago with Ohio Dominican staying put in the No. 10 hole.

The Midwest Region includes schools from the GLIAC, the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The GLVC holds four regional ranking positions with the G-MAC's Ursuline holding court at No. 4.

The 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament Selection Show will take place on Sunday, March 5th at 10 PM on NCAA.com. The Top 8 in each region will qualify for the postseason championships.
