2017 GLIAC Women's Basketball Tournament Central
BAY CITY, Mich. -- The top seed in the country and 31-0 Ashland Eagles captured the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Basketball Tournament championship on Sunday (March 5) for the second straight year with an 85-76 victory over Grand Valley State.

Ashland outrebounded GVSU 37-25 in a back-and-forth battle the Eagles put away at the foul line late to stay unbeaten and claim the league tournament title. The Eagles fired 55.9 percent from the field in a game featuring eight ties and five lead changes. Andi Daugherty led the Eagles with 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 11 rebounds. GVSU's valient attempt to dethrone the unbeaten AU squad was guided by Taylor Parmley's 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
