GVSU's Langs, Walsh's Wooten Selected GLIAC Hoops Players of the Week

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly women's basketball awards following Week 13 of the 2016-17 campaign. Grand Valley State senior guard Janae Langs earned GLIAC Women's Basketball North Division honors, while Walsh senior guard Brooklyn Wooten captured South Division accolades for the second time this year.


NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Janae Langs, Grand Valley State

Grand Valley State guard Janae Langs averaged 18.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in wins over Northwood and Lake Superior State this weekend. The senior guard shot 53.8 percent from the field in the two games and 57.1 percent from three-point territory. Langs started the week with 20 points and 13 rebounds in a 73-52 win over Northwood before posting 16 points and nine boards in a 78-50 victory over LSSU.


SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Brooklyn Wooten, Walsh

Walsh senior guard Brooklyn Wooten led the Cavaliers with 14.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game in two much-needed wins to help close Walsh's magic number down to one with three games to play. Wooten scored 20 points on 7-of-13 from the field and also had seven rebounds in a nail-biting 71-68 win against Hillsdale. She followed up with nine points and seven rebounds in an 80-75 win over ODU.
