2018 NCAA DIVISION II WOMEN'S BASKETBALL BRACKET

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The No. 1 Ashland University Eagles defeated Montana State University - Billings by a score of 91-73 on Monday (March 19) in the 2018 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals on Heritage Court inside the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. Ashland moved to 35-0 on the season and ran its consecutive games streak to 72 straight victories. The Eagles will now face #5-seeded Indiana (Pa.) in Wednesday's national semifinal contest scheduled for 9:30 PM ET/8:30 PM CT in Sioux Falls.

All five Ashland starters reached double-figure scoring on a night where the Eagles trailed for just 1:15 in the early goings. AU forced Billings into 26 turnovers which they converted into 33 points. Senior Laina Snyder guided the AU squad with 22 points and nine rebounds, while classmate Andi Daugherty recorded 20 ponts and six rebounds in the victory. The Eagles outscored their opponents 23-12 in the final quarter to put the contest out of reach. Ashland also not only broke its own D-II single-season record for points scored during the contest, it also passed Connecticut for the most points scored in a campaign in NCAA women's basketball history, regardless of level, with 3,500.
