Ashland Wins Third Straight #GLIACWBB Tournament Title

2018 GLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

GLIACWBB -- Ashland earned the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Basketball Tournament Championship on Sunday (March 4) on the campus of Ashland University inside Kates Gymnasium. Top-ranked Ashland defeated No. 3 seed Grand Valley State by a 85-74 score to raise the tournament title for the third consecutive season.

Ashland picked up its 68th straight victory along with their third straight conference tournament title as the Eagles moved to 30-0 on the season after a hard fought victory against Grand Valley State. AU senior forward Laina Snyder led all scorers with 27 points while Jodi Johnson chipped in with 21 of her own along with seven rebounds. The Eagles owned the points in the paint battle by a 46-29 margin and forced GVSU into 24 turnovers. GVSU was paced by Natalie Koenig who poured in 20 points with Cassidy Boensch contributing 19 points along with Maddie Dailey who recorded 17 points.
