2018 GLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

#GLIACWBB -- The 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals are in the books and four teams will head to Ashland University for the weekend semifinal and championship contests. Top-ranked Ashland prevailed for its 66th consecutive victory and will face No. 5 seed Northwood in Saturday's semifinal round, while No. 3 Grand Valley State will match-up with rival No. 7 Ferris State who earned a big road upset in quarterfinal action Wednesday night.

Top-ranked Ashland turned 30 Davenport turnovers into 31 points along with 22 assists to eliminate the Panthers and earn hosting duties for the final two rounds of the 2018 GLIAC Women's Basketball Tournament. Five Eagles reached double-figure scoring with Laina Snyder leading the way with 16 points and 12 rebounds in the victory.

Ferris State fired 50.9 percent from the floor while holding Michigan Tech to 32.8 percent shooting to earn the upset victory on the road Wednesday night. The Bulldogs accumulated 44 points in the paint and outrebounded the Huskies by a 48-33 margin. FSU senior Rachel McInerney poured in 16 points to go with 14 rebounds, while her teammate Leah Humes led all scorers with 19 points.

Northwood picked up a big road victory on Wednesday night in Detroit to advance to the conference semifinals as the Timberwolves held Wayne State to sub-30 percent shooting in the contest. In a game featuring 13 lead changes, Northwood's Maddy Seeley posted a game-high 21 points including 9-for-9 from the foul line with Karli Herrington contributing 16 points and 14 rebounds off the bench in the victory.

#3 GRAND VALLEY STATE DEF. #6 NORTHERN MICHIGAN, 58-40 | BOX SCORE

Grand Valley State connected on 11 triples to advance easily over Northern Michigan in the quarterfinal round of the league tournament. GVSU's Natalie Koenig led all scorers with 18 points, three steals and three blocks while Jenn DeBoer posted 14 points in the victory. NMU's Lexi Smith scored 17 points to lead the Wildcats in defeat.
