Michigan Tech Jumps to 15th; Ashland Remains Atop WBCA Poll

WBCA Division II Women's Basketball Rankings

WBCA -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) has once again placed two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's basketball programs inside the latest Top 25 poll.

Ashland (10-0, 4-0 GLIAC)) is the top-ranked team in the poll for a 17th consecutive time in the regular season/postseason following a pair of blowout victories last week in conference play. The Eagles defeated Wayne State by 50 points on Thursday before downing Davenport 96-50. AU sophomore guard Jodi Johnson turned in one of the best stat-sheet-stuffing weekends in program history: 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 7.0 steals and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 61.5 percent from the field on the week

Michigan Tech (10-1, 4-0 GLIAC) moved up three spots to No. 15 thanks to a 2-0 road weekend highlighted by an overtime victory over Grand Valley State where she was one rebound shy of a triple double. The Huskies then went on to rout Purdue Northwest on Saturday, 86-40. Tech guard Lindsay Winter collected her third GLIAC North Player of the Week honor after she averaged 14 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7 assists per contest.

Grand Valley State is also receiving votes but sitting outside the Top 25 at 8-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
