WBCA Division II Women's Basketball Rankings
WBCA -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) has placed two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's basketball programs inside the Top 25.
Ashland (8-0) is the top-ranked team in the poll for a 16th consecutive time in the regular season/postseason, breaking the record of 15 previously accomplished by Cal Poly Pomona (Jan. 5, 1985-Feb. 8, 1987) and Bentley (Nov. 19, 2013-April 1, 2014). The Eagles picked up road wins over Lake Superior State and Ferris State to kick start GLIAC play as forward Laina Snyder claimed GLIAC Player of the Week honors.
Michigan Tech remained at No. 18 for the second straight week after a pair of blowout home victories over Saginaw Valley and Northwood to start GLIAC competition 2-0, including an 8-1 overall mark. Three Huskies are average more than 13 points per contest paced by Brenna Heise's 14.3 per game average.
Grand Valley State is also receiving votes but sitting outside the Top 25.
