Michigan Tech's Winter Goes Back-to-Back, Northwood's Seeley Eclipses Milestone to Headline GLIAC POW Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following the second weekend of the 2017 women's basketball season. Michigan Tech senior guard Lindsay Winter earned GLIAC Women's Basketball North Division honors, while Northwood senior guard Maddy Seeley captured South Division accolades.


NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Lindsay Winter, Michigan Tech

Michigan Tech senior guard Lindsay Winter had a another great week for the Huskies by helping lead the team to two more wins and keep Tech unbeaten at 4-0. Winter averaged 19 points in the two games, pouring in 20 against 19th ranked Minnesota State Moorhead. She connected on 60 percent of her shots from the field (15-25) and 60 percent of her three-point shots (6-10). Winter was also very active on the boards with nine against the Dragons and six more against Minnesota-Crookston. Winter is leading the Huskies in scoring and rebounds at 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. She is also second on the team in assists per game at 4.3.


SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Maddy Seeley, Northwood

Northwood senior guard Maddy Seeley averaged 21.5 points per game, leading Northwood to wins over a pair of GLVC opponents last week. In addition, Seeley became the 17th member of the 1,000 point club last week. She shot 45 percent from the floor, 39 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent from the foul line. In addition, she added 4.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game. She scored a game-high 25 points to go along with six assists and four rebounds in Northwood's 86-72 win over Lewis. Her final point of the night against the Flyers put her at 1,000 for her career. Seeley then had 18 points, four rebounds and three assists in Northwood's 77-57 victory against Indianapolis.
