Ashland's Johnson, Lake Superior State's Radtke Collect GLIAC Women's Hoops Weekly Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following the second week of the 2018-19 women's basketball season. Lake Superior State University junior guard Claire Radtke earned GLIAC Women's Basketball North Division honors, while Ashland University junior guard/forward Jodi Johnson captured South Division accolades.


NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Claire Radtke - Lake Superior State

Lake Superior State junior guard Claire Radtke averaged 15.5 points per game on 60 percent shooting, including 70 percent on three-point shots, while averaging four rebounds and one steal as the Lakers garnered two road wins on the week. The Lakers are off to their best start through four games since 2014-15. In the Lakers' 78-48 win at Ohio Valley on Thursday, Radtke led all players with 15 points on 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) shooting, including 3-of-6 (50 percent) shooting from behind the arc, and she grabbed three rebounds. In the Lakers' 77-64 win at Alderson Broaddus on Saturday, Radtke scored a team-high 16 points on 4-of-7 (57.1 percent) shooting, including 4-of-4 (100 percent) shooting, while grabbing five rebounds, and tallying one assist and one steal. 


SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jodi Johnson - Ashland

In a 93-51 win at Walsh on Nov. 14, Ashland University junior guard/forward Jodi Johnson's game-high 25 points gives her 1,209 in her AU career, and moves her into 14th place on the program's all-time scoring list. She was 8-of-9 from the field, 3-of-3 from 3-point range, and 6-of-6 from the foul line, and added six rebounds and five assists.
