Ferris State's McCartney receives GLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced that Ferris State senior guard Mallory McCartney has been named GLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week following week two of the 2022-23 season. 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mallory McCartney, Ferris State

Ferris State University senior guard Mallory McCartney had an impressive week, averaged 19 points per game, as the Bulldogs improved to 4-0 overall with two regional victories. The senior guard scored 18 points with six assists and six rebounds in Wednesday?s 79-51 romp over Northwood in FSU?s home opener at Jim Wink Arena. She then came back with a team-high 20 points, five assists and two boards on Saturday as the Bulldogs registered a 97-71 road win at Illinois-Springfield. For the week, she shot 61.9% from the floor and went 10-of-15 (.667) from behind the three-point line while making both of her free throws. Overall, she tallied 38 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds and a steal in the two contests for unbeaten Ferris State.
