LEMONT, Ill. – The University of Findlay and Ashland University women’s golf teams, and Kelly Hartigan from Grand Valley State University have qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships the week of May 13-16.

The University of Findlay women's golf team is heading back to the NCAA Division II National Championship for the second straight year after tying for second at the Super Region 1 Tournament at the Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, Ill. The Oilers fired a three-round score of 935 (319, 308, 308), the second lowest 54-hole score in school history, to tie Ashland University for second place.

The Oilers posted a 308 during the final round on May 5 and will join the University of Indianapolis (312, 305, 305 – 922) and Ashland University (320, 308, 307 – 935) as the representatives from Super Region 1 at the national championship. Junior Kasey Petty led the Oilers by tying for second with a 54-hole score of 226, the third lowest total in school history. She was one stroke off of first place, which Kelly Hartigan of Grand Valley State University captured with a 225 (75, 73, 77).

The AU women's golf team shot a team tournament-low of 307. Senior Abby Tepe played even par on the back nine which plagued golfers all day. She ended with the Eagles' best round of 74 and 232 on the tournament. She tied for 11th place overall.

Kelly Hartigan from Grand Valley State University defended her title as the NCAA East Super Regional medalist after carding a 5-over-par 77 on the final day, and totaling a 9-over-par 225 in 54 holes.  For Hartigan, she becomes the first golfer since at least 2003 to win back-to-back individual crowns at the NCAA East Super Regional. The victory, her third of the season and 14th of her career, qualifies the four-time All-GLIAC First Team selection for the NCAA Championship as an individual competitor.

GVSU, which started the day in third place, posted a 23-over-par 311 in its final round, falling to fourth place with a 73-over-par 937 for the tournament.

The championship event will take place on May 13-16 at the Meadows Golf Club in Allendale, Mich.
