GVSU's Hartigan & Findlay's Petty Card Top Ten Finishes at 2015 NCAA Women's Golf Championships

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Grand Valley State senior Kelly Hartigan and Findlay junior Kasey Petty finished in a tie for ninth place (+17) after the conclusion of the 2015 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships, hosted by The Meadows at Grand Valley State University.

GVSU's Haritgan completed her historic four-year career with the Lakers women's golf team by firing an even-par 72 on the final day of the NCAA Championship. Overall, the three-time WGCA All-American totaled 305 (79, 80, 74, 72) for her four rounds. With the top-20 finish, her third in as many trips to the NCAA Championship, Hartigan became just the fourth player in GLIAC history with three top 20s on Division II's biggest stage.

Findlay's Petty paced the Oilers with a 1-under-par round of 71 on the final day to tie for ninth place at the championship, the highest finish ever for an Oilers golfer at the NCAA Division II National Championship.

Petty's 72-hole score of 305 (78, 76, 80, 71) was also the second lowest ever at UF. She set the 72-hole record with a 298 last year at the championship event. Her 71 on the final day of competition was also the fourth lowest round in school history.

In the 12-team competition, Findlay (+119) wrapped up nationals in eighth place with a final score of 1,271 (328, 317, 311, 315), while Ashland (+122) finished ninth three shots behind the Oilers at 1,274 (324, 315, 324, 311). The Eagles were paced by junior Ali Green (+27) who finished in a tie for 37th at 315 (77, 82, 79, 77).

Indianapolis (+60) won the school's first national championship with a score of 1,212 (305, 299, 309, 299) while Midwestern State's Brenna Moore (+9) captured medalist honors with a 297 (74, 73, 74, 76).
