BAY CITY, Mich. - Grand Valley State University junior Gabrielle Shipley has earned the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Golf Athlete of the Year award as announced by the conference office. Grand Valley State University rookie Samantha Moss was named the conference's Freshman of the Year while Grand Valley State University head coach Rebecca Mallioux and Findlay head coach Dominic Guarnieri were tabbed as Co-GLIAC Coaches of the Year.

Gabrielle Shipley was named the GLIAC Women’s Golf Athlete of the Year, keeping the award in Allendale for the fourth consecutive season. The Hastings, Michigan native is the fifth different Laker to collect the honor. Shipley tallied five wins, tied for the second-most in program history, and finished third or higher in eight of the club’s 11 tournaments. Now a three-time All-GLIAC First Team honoree, Shipley posted a 75.45 scoring average in the countable events to win the award, nearly four shots better than the next-closest competitor.

Samantha Moss earned GLIAC Women’s Golf Freshman of the Year honors, becoming the second consecutive Laker to win the award. The Fenton, Michigan native recorded four top-20 finishes, including a tie for third at the Cavalier Classic and a tie for 19^th at the GLIAC Championship. Moss posted six scores in the 70s this season.
