Ashland's Neumann Earns GLIAC Women's Golf Weekly Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its first weekly awards for the 2017 women's golf spring season. Ashland's Kaitlin Neumann has been named GLIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week.

Courtesy of Ashland Sports Information: Ashland University senior Kaitlin Neumann has gotten off to a strong start to the 2017 spring season. Neumann, who finished in a tie for ninth at the Las Vegas Desert Classic on March 5-6, earned her first medalist honor of 2016-17 following the second playoff hole on Day 2 of the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational on Sunday (March 19) in Georgetown, Ky. After 36 holes, Neumann was tied with Trevecca Nazarene's Alexa Rippy at 153 (79-74), necessitating the playoff. As a team, the Eagles finished in second place (322-316—638), eight shots behind champion Grand Valley State (322-308—630).
