NASHPORT, Ohio -- Grand Valley State won the 2018 GLIAC Women's Golf Championship by seven strokes hosted at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio. GVSU recorded a 17-over par round of 305 to finish at +48 overall with an 912 total for the week. This marks the 13th league championship for the Lakers, including 10 of the last 11 titles.

GVSU's Katie Chipman captured medalist honors by one stroke at 9-over par for the championship just ahead of Karissa Guthrie (+10) from Northern Michigan. Chipman carded rounds of 77-73-75, while her teammate Mackenzie Blomberg finished third individually at +11. NMU's Caro Els posted +12 overall for solo fourth place with Ashland's Krystal Hu, Saginaw Valley's Sabrina Coffman, GVSU's Samantha Moss and NMU's Haley Hewer all tied for fifth place.

Northern Michigan finished second in the team competition at +55, while the Tiffin Dragons (+75) recorded their best ever GLIAC finish in third place. Wayne State (+84) took fourth place following the low round of the day on Sunday just in front of Saginaw Valley State (+92) in fifth position.
