GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards once again this season. Grand Valley State junior Alex Scott claimed medalist honors on the men's side after a victory at the Greyhound Invitational, while Grand Valley State sophomore Katie Chipman captured recognition in women's competition following a win at the NC4K College Classic.

MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK | Alex Scott - Grand Valley State

Grand Valley State junior Alex Scott took medalist honors at the Greyhound Invitational after shooting rounds of 71, 69, and 70 to finish with a 210, 6-under final score. Scott's second round of 69 was tied for the second lowest score recorded at the invite while his final round of 70 was tied for the lowest mark on the third and final day of competition. The juniors efforts also helped GVSU to a second place finish after a 3-day total of 869 (+5) was just one stroke behind UMSL for first place.

WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK | Katie Chipman - Grand Valley State

Grand Valley State sophomore Katie Chipman took first place at the NC4K College Classic, played at Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio, after carding a two-day total of 143 to finish 1-under. The sophomore shot rounds of 71 and 72 to be the only golfer in the 91-player field to shoot under par and narrowly edged out Avery Rochester of Northern Michigan by one stroke for the individual title. Chipman's performance also helped lead GVSU to the team title as well, as the Lakers tallied a two-day total of 599 to win the event by five strokes.
