GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its Women's Golf Player of the Week award for spring events through April 9, 2019. Grand Valley State's Katie Chipman earned this week's honors.
WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Katie Chipman - Grand Valley State
Junior Katie Chipman (Plymouth, Mich.) shot a 73-73--146 on the Canyon Course 2018 to tie for third and lead the Grand Valley State women's golf team to a first-place tie with California State-San Marcos at the 17-team West Texas A&M Desert Invite, which concluded Tuesday in Tucson, Ariz. GVSU carded a 9-over 297 on the second and final day of play. It was the lowest team score of the afternoon as they completed the event with a 21-over 597. It was also the Laker's sixth top-five finish of the season.
