BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its final GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards of the 2017 season. This week McKendree senior midfielder Tori Lelo earned GLIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week award, while McKendree senior goalkeeper Amy Porta gained GLIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week accolades completing the McKendree sweep.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Tori Lelo, McKendree
In a weekend that saw the Bearcats go 2-0 and capture a share of the GLIAC title, McKendree senior midfielder Tori Lelo was a huge spark. On the weekend Lelo scored eight goals, while adding four groundballs, and five draw controls. Her play all over the field was a driving force for the success of McKendree.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Amy Porta, McKendree
It was a big weekend for McKendree senior goalkeeper Amy Porta, making 12 saves vs. Findlay and 14 vs. Tiffin. Her play between the pipes help secure two wins and a share of the GLIAC regular season title.
