BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its fourth GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards of the 2017 season. This week UIndy senior attacker Chalance Morrison earned GLIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week accolades, while McKendree senior goalkeeper Amy Porta earned GLIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors for the second straight week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Chalane Morrison, Indianapolis
Morrison lead the charge for UIndy in their win over Wheeling Jesuit. She was huge all over the field picking up two groundballs and pulling in three draw controls. Morrison was key in transition and found the back of the net four times, while adding two assist.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Amy Porta, McKendree
In a win over Georgian Court, Porta came away with seven saves, two groundballs, and two caused turnovers. In a game against No. 15 NYIT Porta was big between the pipes, coming away with 11 saves, two groundballs and one caused turnover.
