BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its sixth GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards of the 2017 season. This week Tiffin senior midfielder Morgan Sherley earned GLIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week accolades, while her teammate sophomore midfielder Amie Morrison earned GLIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week rounding out the Tiffin sweep.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Morgan Sherley, Tiffin
In a win against No. 18 IUP, Sherley lead the way for Tiffin on the offensive end with six points. In Tiffin's second win of the week, Sherley had four helpers against Roberts Wesleyan. Between the 30's Sherley recorded five ground balls, one draw control and one caused turnover for the week.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Amie Morrison, Tiffin
Morrison was huge for Tiffin in the clearing game and on settled defense in Tiffin's two wins. Against No. 18 IUP, Morrison created three caused turnovers, including one late in the game to seal the win for the Dragons. In their win over Roberts Wesleyan, Morrison pulled in two draw controls.
