Tiffin's Hamilton, McKendree's Sugarman Capture GLIAC Lacrosse Weekly Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its eighth GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards of the 2018 season. This week Tiffin sophomore midfielder Elle Hamilton earned GLIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week award for the second time this season, while McKendree junior Hannah Sugarman gained her second GLIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honor of the year.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Elle Hamilton, Tiffin

Tiffin sophomore midfielder Elle Hamilton had a strong week as the Dragons went 2-0 with wins over Concordia St. Paul and Northern Michigan. She totaled 11 goals, 2 assists, 6 ground balls, and 15 draw controls, including 7 goals against Concordia St. Paul in a 20-11 victory. Her 4 goals were also all in the first half against the Wildcats, as TU posted a 20-6 decision. Hamilton is currently tied with teammate Elle MacMillan for the GLIAC lead in goals with 58.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Hannah Sugarman, McKendree

McKendree junior Hannah ugarman picked up a team-best five ground balls and caused five turnovers in a 23-10 victory against Davenport on Friday in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She added two goals and one draw control in the winning effort. The junior from Holden, Massachusetts leads the Bearcats in both ground balls (60) and caused turnovers (35) on the year.
