BAY CITY, Mich. - Lake Erie College freshman forward Elizabeth Awuah (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central) and junior goal keeper Sarah Stroope (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) earned GLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive "Athlete of the Week" awards, respectively.

Lake Erie College freshman forward Elizabeth Awuah tallied seven points in the Storm’s two Great Lake Intercollegiate wins over the weekend. In the Storm’s 4-1 win over Malone University Friday (Sept. 27), Awuah scored two-first half goals and assisted on another goal in the second-half. On Sunday (Sept. 29), Awuah scored the eventual game-winning goal against Walsh University, lifting the Storm to a 2-0 victory.

Lake Erie College junior goal keeper Sarah Stroope led the Storm defense to two victories this weekend. Playing in just the first-half of the Storm’s 4-1 win over Malone, Stroope made three saves and did not allow a goal in. Against Walsh, Stroope went the distance, making five saves for the Storm’s first shutout of the season.
