BAY CITY, Mich. - Ashland University freshman Maddy Smith (Columbus, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and Ferris State University freshman Savanna Wojtanowski (Traverse City, Traverse City West) earned GLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive "Athlete of the Week" awards, respectively.

Ashland University freshman Maddy Smith had three goals last week. The freshman scored two in a 4-2 victory at Saginaw Valley State and followed that up with a goal at Northwood in a 2-0 win. Prior to last weekend, Smith did not have a goal this season. Ashland is 3-0-1 in its last four matches and has scored 12 goals in that stretch.

Ferris State University freshman goal keeper Savanna Wojtanowski posted back-to-back shutout wins in net for the Bulldogs and held onto second place in the GLIAC with two victories over Walsh and Malone. The Bulldogs freshman played the majority of both game in net (162:36) and came away with a 0.00 goals against average and 1.000 save percentage.
