BAY CITY, Mich. - Northern Michigan University freshman Paula Hafner (Malmo, Sweden/Mahmo Borgarskola) and Grand Valley State University sophomore Katy Woolley (Dearborn, Mich./Edsel Ford) earned GLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive "Athlete of the Week" awards, respectively.

GLIAC Women's Soccer "Offensive Athlete of the Week":

 Paula Hafner (Fr./F) - Northern Michigan  
Malmo, Sweden/Mahmo Borgarskola

Northern Michigan University freshman Paula Hafner led the Wildcats to a pair of GLIAC wins over the weekend from the NMU soccer field. Hafner had two goals and two assists in the two games to extend her point streak to seven games. During the streak, Hafner has six goals and five assists and NMU is 4-2-1 over that span. She scored the game-winner 2:08 into overtime in the 1-0 win over Northwood on Friday. She scored a goal and added two assists in the 4-1 victory over Saginaw Valley State on Sunday.

GLIAC Women's Soccer "Defensive Athlete of the Week":

Katy Woolley (So./D) - Grand Valley State
Dearborn, Mich./Edsel Ford

Grand Valley State University sophomore Katy Woolley notched a pair of assists and helped Grand Valley State set a new program record for consecutive shutouts last week. Woolley recorded both helpers in the Lakers’ 6-0 victory over Ferris State. GVSU was able to hold Indianapolis and Ferris State to a combined six shots. Woolley also enabled the Lakers to post their 17th consecutive shutout. The streak is the longest in school history and tied for fifth-best in the NCAAA Division II record book.
