BAY CITY, Mich. - Ferris State University sophomore Nichole Boehnke (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc) and Northwood University freshman Samantha Cook (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon East) earned GLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive "Athlete of the Week" awards, respectively.

Ferris State University sophomore forward Nichole Boehnke had an outstanding week as the Bulldogs won three consecutive home contests. Boehnke tallied five goals in the three games while adding two assists for 12 total points. Boehnke started the week with two assists in Tuesday’s (Oct. 15) 3-1 non-league win over Northwood and then recorded two goals in a 3-0 league shutout of Tiffin on Friday (Oct. 18). She wrapped up the week with a hat trick in a dominating 5-2 win over Findlay on Sunday (Oct. 19) as the Boehnke currently leads the league in goals (10) and points (25) this year while ranking tied for second in assists (5).

Northwood University freshman keeper
Samantha Cook registered a pair of shutout victories while making
19 saves for Northwood on the road last week, including a 1-0 win
over No. 15 Gannon Friday night. She made six saves in the win over
Gannon, which was the first of her career. Cook then made 13 stops
in a 2-0 win over Lake Erie. Over her last three starts, Cook
has made 32 saves.
