GVSU's Stauffer, FSU's Kraft Claim GLIAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly women's soccer awards after the eighth weekend of competition. Grand Valley State senior forward Kendra Stauffer earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Ferris State University freshman goalkeeper Grace Kraft collected GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Kendra Stauffer, Grand Valley State

Grand Valley State senior forward Kendra Stauffer scored three goals and added an assist in two weekend games, helping the Lakers to a pair of victories and their 12th consecutive GLIAC championship. In Friday's win over Northwood, Stauffer scored a goal and notched an assist, before adding a pair of goals in Sunday afternoon's 4-0 victory over Saginaw Valley State. With seven points over the weekend, Stauffer is now third in the GLIAC in points and goals, and second in assists.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Grace Kraft, Ferris State

Ferris State University freshman goalkeeper Grace Kraft set a school single-season record this past weekend by recording her eighth and ninth shutouts of the year as the Bulldogs did not allow a goal in two important league outings. Kraft tallied 10 saves in 90 minutes of action as FSU avenged an earlier non-league defeat this year by topping Saginaw Valley State 1-0 on Friday. She then came back to hold Northwood scoreless for 110 minutes in a double-overtime deadlock on Sunday in Midland. Kraft played 200 total minutes and made 15 saves on the weekend for FSU, which clinched a GLIAC Tournament berth and moved into a share for fourth place. Behind Kraft's play, the Bulldogs have allowed only a single goal in their last eight contests to date and FSU has given up only two goals in the last nine outings.
