GVSU, FSU Remain Highly Ranked Ahead of Friday's Matchup

KANSAS CITY, MO. — Grand Valley State is the top-ranked team in the country for the second straight week as three Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) teams remain ranked inside the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) national women's soccer Top 25 poll. 

GVSU (14-0-1, 6-0 GLIAC) posted a 2-1 overtime victory over now No. 22 Saginaw Valley (10-2-2, 4-1-1 GLIAC) before shutting out Ashland 3-0. SVSU blanked Davenport on Sunday to close out their week. No. 12 Ferris State earned a 4-0 non-conference win over Tiffin before defeating Northwood by a 4-1 tally. 

This week features a big Top 25 matchup when No. 1 Grand Valley State travels to No. 12 Ferris State on Friday (Oct. 19) in a match between the top two teams in the conference standings. GVSU will then head to Northwood on Sunday, while FSU plays Davenport at home to cap the week. SVSU welcomes Michigan Tech on Friday before battling Northern Michigan on Sunday (Oct. 21).
