KANSAS CITY -- A total of 773 collegiate teams (289 men, 484 women) earned the Team Academic Award, including 191 schools who had both their men's and women's programs among the recipients. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) recorded six academic program awards, including Parkside who had both programs achieve excellence.
To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.
