Six from GLIAC land on United Soccer Women's All-Midwest Region First Team

GLIAC -- The 2018 United Soccer Coaches Women's All-Midwest Region Team includes 12 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players, including six on the first team.

Grand Valley State first-team selections are sophomores Cecilia Steinwascher and Ava Cook, senior Tara Lierman and junior Riko Sagara. Also selected to the first team are Ashland junior Sydney Wright and Ferris State freshman Pia Nagel.

Second-team honorees from the GLIAC are Ashland sophomore Hannah Lee, Saginaw Valley State juniors Molly Vanderhoff and Valentina Giambanco, and Ferris State sophomore Brianne Rogers. Third-team picks are Michigan Tech senior Rachel Wall and Ferris State senior Carley Dubbert.

No. 1-ranked Grand Valley State (24-0-1) plays in the NCAA semifinals Thursday in Pittsburgh. The Lakers play Lee at 8 p.m. They advanced to the Final Four with a 6-1 quarterfinal victory over defending national champion Central Missouri on Nov. 18.
