BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its women's tennis weekly awards following the fifth week of the regular season. Northwood senior Olesia Riabchuk claimed GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors after a dominant weekend.
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Olesia Riabchuk, Northwood
Northwood senior Olesia Riabchuk went 4-0 last week, leading Northwood to a pair of victories. She won a pair of straight-set matches at No. 1 singles against Ashland and Tiffin, allowing her opponents to win just five games. Riabchuk also teamed with Kate Berestovenko to win two matches at the No. 2 slot in doubles, with their opponents winning a total of four games. Northwood is currently tied for the lead in the GLIAC.
