GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its second women's tennis weekly awards for the 2018 season. Michigan Tech freshman Jessica Brown claimed GLIAC Player of the Week honors after an impressive weekend to kickoff the conference schedule.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jessica Brown - Michigan Tech
Michigan Tech freshman Jessica Brown had another great week for the Huskies, winning all four of her matches this weekend. She had a key singles win against Wayne State in the No. 2 spot in the lineup, rallying in the third set to win 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 6-2. Her other singles win against Ashland was 6-1, 6-0. Her doubles wins were 6-3 on Saturday and 6-1 on Sunday. Including four singles matches at ITA's, Brown is 6-1 as a freshman in singles so far this year.
